How To Perform a Background Check in Guadalupe County Texas

The Guadalupe County does not have a specific database to perform a general background check but instead, they use state resources for professional background checks while personal background checks can be performed through third-party people search sites or by manually looking up public records through the government agencies seen in this guide.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) performs criminal background checks.16 DPS offers named-based and fingerprint-based criminal history searches.

Fingerprint-based searches are the most reliable because with name-based searches, the DPS is more likely to miss records that pertain to the subject, or include information that belong to another person.

Name-based searches can be conducted on the Criminal History Conviction Name Search online for free. However, searchers must create an account to conduct the search, and the search is limited to convictions or deferred adjudications that have been made public to DPS. If available, the public criminal history record information will provide arrests, prosecutions, and disposition of cases for individuals arrested for class B misdemeanors or greater.

Class C convictions may be available if reported to DPS. If conducting the name-based background check offline through DPS, the fee is $10.

IDEMIA fingerprinting vendor sites are located throughout Texas, and can search for a nearby location to schedule an appointment.
